This course represents the first students'
contact with macroeconomics at a relatively more advanced level, in the
final year of their undergraduate studies. In particular, the main
goals of this course are to develop skills to analyze, summarize and
have a critical opinion about the following items: (i) The main
stylized facts of business cycles; (ii) Fiscal policy and Ricardian
equivalence; (iii) Overlapping generation models and the sustainability
of social security; (iv) The problem of credibility and time
consistency in economic policy; (v) The current financial crisis.
